DOORS & DETAILS
The leaky front step led to a fun tile job. The doors were an exercise in crazy internet and salvage searching. The tables simply evolved.

The old stoop boards were leaking and my kiln was up and running.

I made “Stafford” tiles and also started firing our Grand Opening tiles.

This was the first pot I threw here.

It took a while to find the right doors.

I literally crawled through hundreds of doors in acres of this movie prop warehouse in the middle of winter. I gave up and on the way out, spotted this elaborate display. The warehouse manager was tired and sold me the panels separately. (This wasn’t an original historic pairing, so no integrity was lost).

After another internet search, I found beautiful reproductions online

Labor of Love, it took forever

Always in the plan, I couldn’t find what I wanted, so we made these out of salvaged wall beadboard and junk store bases. The paint colors are original from decades of renovations

The chairs came later

A random roadside find, these turned out to be very old and very well made. Screws, glue, paint, and faux and we love them to death.

I wish with all my heart that I saved more of this wood, but hindsight… The one black board is from the strip club paint.

Leftover from a long-ago party, these are also in the desk work light lamp in earlier pictures. They glow in the dark.

The tortilla chip on the floor from his guacamole toy
Big sweet Hector loved to sew and apparently helped make the eyeball lamp lampshade. :)
