Studio NOtes

2/18

Hi everyone!  As you've probably noticed, we have a full studio this session.  We've been slowly modifying the space for more room, and with the addition of Family Clay, we're right on target.

With this, it is more important than ever to stick to existing studio guidelines, as well as a few new ones, in order to keep everything running smoothly, and to keep me free to run the kilns more frequently.  (It takes me two work days for each load).

Some reminders & newer stuff:

  • Make sure all of your equipment is put away at the end of each work session, including wheel pans and bats from the draining racks.  Return all studio equipment to the drawers and shelves.
  • Mop up any spills, both in the wheel area and glazing area.  Rinse the mop when you're done.
  • This is new: Please do as much of your glaze bucket dipping as possible next to the sink where the floor is flat. Also, help me out by returning any errant glaze buckets to their correct space under the tables.
  • Please take home to wash and dry any studio rags you've used for throwing or cleaning.

Everything else is going well.  The studio is staying organized and clean, the wedging boards and tables are consistantly wiped down and clean, the wheels get turned off, and so on.  I also appreciate very much when you've helped me with my own crap ;) (especially after a glazing/loading late night).

Also, your help with the newer people is very much appreciated. It helps get the information out, as well as makes for a friendly community environment.
