Back to Community!

May 11, 2022

People are creative!

As I thought about the final color placement for the building trim, I decided to ask the community on social media for their thoughts as well. WELL. A couple of ideas popped up that were just fabulous and I’ve been mulling the details ever since. One thing led to another and another and another.

I’m going to be a little cryptic and not say much for now, because I like surprises, but we’ll be doing this in stages. Stage 1: I’m making a fun clay escutcheon for the freshly painted door. I’ve also scoured eBay for some little mailbox doodads for the entryway. Stage 2: My students and I are working on some secret details also for the entryway. Stage 3: The Community will be involved in an iteration of our Community Tile Project. Custom 3D printed cookie cutters are being involved. (And I’m checking tracking numbers daily:D

Clay is fun

May or may not have to tweak this design for functionality. It’s my first escutcheon.

Working a few sunflowers into our theme as a moment in history
